Chamber Music

CYMG Chamber Groups are the hallmark of CYMG, as they are the main ambassadors of CYMG. Our Chamber Music program is open to intermediate to advanced students with at least 3 years of experience. Students are placed in chamber groups (small ensembles) based on instrumentation and ability level as demonstrated through an audition

Chamber Groups are coached by our professional teaching artists. Students strengthen their skills and build confidence as they are responsible for learning their own parts while developing their small ensemble playing skills. CYMG Chamber Groups play a variety of repertoire and are provided with numerous opportunities to perform community and professional gigs.

 

Past performances include: Huntington Library Members’ Holiday Event; Le Meridien Hotel Opening Ceremony; Ronald McDonald House holiday recital; Freedom Writers Foundation documentary screening; St. Michael’s School Fundraiser; Mt. Washington School Save the Arts Fundraiser; Bat Mitzvah by the beach; recitals at Kingsley Manor Assisted Living, MonteCedro Retirement Living, and other senior living facilities; and fancy weddings at the LA Athletic Club, Alexandria Ballrooms, Biltmore Hotel, and more!

Semester-end concerts and one community service performance per semester are mandatory.

Ensembles are formed based on instrumentation, skill level, and schedule availability.

Class placement is by audition/invitation only.
